Summer Events in Plymouth, MI

Although summer doesn’t officially arrive until June 21st, celebrate the summer this June with local events around Plymouth. Get a taste of Louisiana, experience great artwork and music, participate in Relay for Life, and more!

Fun Food Festivities

On June 5th, make sure to stop by the Independence Village of Plymouth for a traditional Louisiana crawfish boil. Enjoy the sounds of summer and dig into some delicious Cajun-style food cooked in one pot and served on newspapers. This event is $15 per person and goes from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

Art Exhibition at PCAC

Welcome artist Denise Cassidy Wood on June 5th for a reception at the Plymouth Community Arts Council. From 6 to 8 PM, enjoy refreshments, experience new pieces, and celebrate her accomplishments as she begins her first solo exhibit all month long in Plymouth. Each person who attends will be eligible to win one of her prints.

Music in the Park

Summer concert near the stageStarting June 11th at 7:30 PM, the Plymouth Community Band will perform on Thursdays throughout the summer in Kellogg Park. Enjoy this local musical experience, made possible by the nearly 75 volunteer musicians from all walks of life who come together and play fun pieces of music.

The Children’s Series begins Wednesday, June 17th and goes throughout the summer. Come out between noon and 1 PM to enjoy great music you can clap your hands and stomp your feet to! Performances by local musicians include The Music LadyThe KerfufflesNessa, and more!

Relay for Life

The 2015 Relay for Life event in Plymouth will be on June 13th and go from 10 AM to 10 PM in Kellogg Park. Form a team with family, friends, or coworkers and register online, or find more ways to get involved in the all-day movement.

Father’s Day

Celebrate Father’s Day with the Father’s Day Run on June 21st. This annual event hosted by the Plymouth YMCA will start at 6 AM and end at 11 AM. The festivities include a kids 1/4 mile fun run, 1 mile run/ walk, 5k run/walk, and more.

Or visit nearby Canton for the annual Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast on June 21st from 7 AM to 11 AM. Proceeds from this event will go towards the scholarship fund for the local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
